The Digital Revolution has transformed our economies, methods of communication, access to and processing of information, our approach to knowledge, mobility, participation and representation. It is a huge technological leap, which allows solutions in times of crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, and also expands paths to democratization, independence and the availability of informational resources. However, it also disembodies interactions, tending to reduce personal presence and to narrow our scope of attention within the myriad of data stimuli.
Being part of an exchange program predicated on long-term, face-to-face personal interaction as a gateway to wisdom and empathy, the Fulbright community is also faced with the opportunities and challenges of the digital age. Therefore, we would like to discuss the transformation of communication from personal to digital or hybrid in spheres directly related to the Fulbright mission: education, culture, society and science. Bulgarian and American Fulbright alumni will share personal experience and offer insight, and practical information about the opportunities and challenges of the digital age.
The event will take place on November 20 and 21, from 4 to 8 pm Sofia time (GMT+2) on Zoom. Program and abstracts/biographical notes for the speakers can be found at http://fulbright.bg/en/digital-presence
The conference is open and participation is free of charge. To join us, please register here:
