What are the advantages of the Dutch business on Bulgaria’s F & V sector now?

Prepare your questions and we will try to find the answers on 16 November 2021, Tuesday 9:30 – 10:30 CET/10:30 – 11:30 EET at the exclusive Zoom seminar organized by the Netherlands Agricultural Office in Bulgaria in cooperation with the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RvO)

Bulgarian horticultural sector faces increasing transformation expectations. Whether it would be the pressure to meet growing domestic demand, to increase competitiveness and to (adapt to the climate changes?) answer the sustainability goals, Bulgarian farmers search to modernize and innovate more than ever. With long traditions in this field, Bulgaria enjoys a wide public consensus that the sector must continue to be a priority during the next EU programming period till 2030.

The tendency for modernization and innovations open up lucrative untapped opportunities for Dutch suppliers of knowledge and technology transfer. Inputs supply in the fields of:

• automated frost & hail protection;

• pest monitoring systems;

• automated irrigation and fertigation;

• precision post harvesting;

• IT & robotic solutions for reduction of  labor intensity

• packing, marketing and logistic

can top on the already established good image of the Netherlands as a source of quality seed and propagation material and position  Dutch investors at the forefront of new endeavors in Bulgaria.

“Bulgaria has almost all ingredients for a successful horticultural sector – traditions, land, climate and hardworking people. The Netherlands can bring the few missing elements – innovation spirit and the competence of marketing”

Arie Veldhuizen, Agricultural Counselor of The Netherlands in Bulgaria

Special feature of the seminar is the presentation of the “BULGARIAN HORTICULTURE: market scan” by Nikolay Valkanov, analyst from InteliAgro independent foundation. The market scan is based on an in-depth  research of Bulgaria’s F & V sector and outlines  concrete opportunities for Dutch entrepreneurs to start a profitable business in Bulgaria, providing leads to business partners and subsidies and financing .

Tips and tricks from the Dutch and Bulgarian perspective will be shared by representatives of RvO and the Bulgarian Ministry of Agriculture focusing on practical and concrete business issues .
